PRACTICE PROFILE
Morgan Carn Partnership was formed in 1957 and has established a reputation for quality
architecture that is buildable and cost effective. One specialty of the practice is
unlocking the potential of complex sites that are often sterilised or restricted by planning
policies or issues such as flooding, contamination, neighbouring buildings etc. Our
approach has won commissions from a wide variety of clients including national
developers, local authorities, housing associations, schools, churches, hospitals, the
Environment Agency, the R.N.L.I. and many others. MCP has proven ability in acting as
lead consultant coordinating the design team, engaging local communities and other
stakeholders. We believe in teamwork and work closely with associated disciplines and
other key development team members to deliver robust, economic solutions to your
brief. We are experienced in many sectors including marine and waterfront, residential,
education, ecclesiastical, health and commercial.
We are seasoned in the masterplanning process and understand that this requires the
co-ordination of many layers of information. By examining the hierarchy of public/private
spaces and the coexistence of mixed users and by maintaining a friendly, professional
relationship with local authorities and planners, our masterplans result in an environment
that gels as a whole whilst enhancing quality of life.
MCP has a varied portfolio which includes master plans for the regeneration of
Newhaven, the first £11 million phase of which was successfully completed with grant
funding from SEEDA, a £65 million mixed waterside development in Gibraltar, 340 seafront
houses and flats in Poole, a 4 star 100+ bedroom hotel with spa and leisure facilities in
Sussex, restaurants, office developments, hospital projects, schools, churches and
community buildings.
Morgan Carn Partnership has a staff of 19 people of which 9 are Architects, 9 are
Architectural Technicians, 1 Practice Manager. The structure is 6 directors, 5 associate
directors and the remaining personnel.
