Landlords, remember it is a competitive market; a dirty or poorly maintained property does not attract decent tennants; clean, airy environments with good quality furniture, carpets and fittings, in a well maintained building will do.
If you have a room to let in your family home please get in touch, we have several suitabvle candidates for your consideration. This is an excellent way of earning extra income from your home in these times and you are not eligible to pay tax on the first £4000 earned each room from letting out a room in your family home. You can expect a 6 week deposit for your security and a months rent in advance. We do not offer management services so it is up to you to keep and return a lodgers deposit.
We charge a £100 finders fee for succesfully placing a tennant with you. Having a lodger, whilst not what you may have expected to have to do, can mean the difference of around £4-5000 per year, and can assist you in an increased income, pay for a holiday, or just support your monthly outgoings whilst the economy recovers. Equip the room well, keep it clean, provide good quality furniture and choose a person you are comfortable with. Try it for 6 months and if it works for you as a family, then continue for the next couple of years and enjoy the considerable extra income letting a room in your family home to a lodger can bring.
And dont forget, a lodger will share your utility bills, council tax, water rates etc etc. Offering temporary Lodgings can be an excellent way to generate additional income in these times of austerity, and whilst the prospect of a lodger is not always desireable the extra income can offer much sought after relief.
